Managing Spam in WebmailFollow

Our webmail platform utilizes a robust spam filtering to help ensure only wanted mail arrives in your email boxes. Spam and phishing campaigns can be sophisticated & targeted which can result in spam messages mistakenly arriving in the inbox, or, they can be flagged as spam when they are valid emails. Here's directions on marking messages as spam & not spam.

Marking Messages as Spam

Clicking the Spam button moves the email message to the Spam folder, and sends information to the spam filtering engine so that the filtering rules can be updated to catch future similar spam messages. This helps update & improve webmail filtering to reflect the current trends of spammers.

To mark one or more messages as spam:

1. Select the message(s) you would like to mark as spam.

2. From the message list toolbar, click the Spam button.

3. The message is moved to your spam folder.

Note: Spam folder email messages are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Marking Messages as Not a Spam

Legitimate emails can accidentally be tagged as spam. There are many reasons for this including, but not limited to, message subject, content, or message routing.

Any message that has been marked as spam and sent to your spam folder will be deleted after 30 days. For this reason, it is good practice to regularly review the contents of your spam folder.

To mark one or more messages as not spam:

  1. Select the message(s) you would like to mark as not spam.
  2. From the message list toolbar, click the Not spam button.

Marking a message as Not spam will both move the message to your Inbox, and send information to the spam-filtering engine so that the filtering rules are updated to improve future recognition of valid emails similar to the one just marked.
